Day and Night: 2 Playwrights, 24 Hours

24 Hour Theatre is something Aftershock and Fusion have done 3 times before. Each time, Josh and Ryk say that ONE time, they’ll get to be in a group together. This is that time. And you get to pull the strings. Here’s how it’s going to work.

Josh and Ryk won’t visit the Facebook Event for this night, until the start of the 24 hour period. In the meantime you have a chance to contribute to their challenge. You can post suggestions of what they put in the show – lines, genre, even props. https://www.facebook.com/events/1412590999071242/

On Friday July 24th, at 7:00PM, Ryk and Josh are going to meet, and view the event information for the first time. Then, Saturday July 25th at 7:00PM, at Fusion Center for the Performing Arts, they will perform whatever it is they have created from your suggestions for a live audience. A two man show created in 24 hours.

Tickets will cost $10 – all proceeds will be split evenly between Fusion Center for the Performing Arts and Aftershock Entertainment. So be a part of the fun (if you don’t have Facebook and want more information on contributing, email us and let us know)

Comedy Night – Auditions

Hoo boy, it is TIME! For Aftershock’s second annual COMEDY NIGHT! Do you like being funny? Improvisation? Sketches? Standup? This show’s for you! Come on out, and see if you have what it takes to make the masses roll on the ground laughing!

Performance Date – July 11th, time TBA, at the Fusion Center for Performing Arts.

Audition Dates
Improv/Sketch auditions: Monday, June 22nd, 6:00PM
Standup auditions: Tuesday, June 23rd, 6:00PM

What to prepare
For the Improv/Sketch auditions, come with a sense of fun and a willingness to try things! If you want to be involved in sketches, bring either a short comedic monologue, and/or the script for a sketch, if you’ve written one you’d like to submit! Sketches should be no longer than 10 minutes, and no shorter than 2.

For the Standup auditions, bring 2-5 minutes of standup material. It doesn’t need to be completed or in order, but it needs to show us that you’re on the right track. This material should be PG-13- keep swearing low, and dirty jokes subtle. We’d like this comedy show to be open to a larger audience than last time.

If you can’t make the audition dates but still want to be a part of it, let us know! We’ll work something out. But I hope to see you all there!

Concept to Curtain

Concept to CurtainThird time’s the charm! Brought to you by Aftershock Entertainment and the Fusion Performing Arts Center, Concept to Curtain is a 24 hour play festival, in which participants will team up to create, direct, and act in several short plays, all in one day! No experience necessary, just a sense of fun, and (more likely than not) the ability to function on little sleep!

When:
To participate, come to Fusion on Saturday, April 25th, at 2:30PM to register.
To see the show, come to Fusion on Sunday April 26th at 3:00PM, to watch! Tickets are $10.

How:
Bring $10, which will cover your registration cost, and one meal (which will be pizza). It would also likely be to your benefit to bring either another meal, or at least some snacks to get you through the night.

The location will have complete adult supervision at all times, but from mall closing hours until mall opening hours, you will be locked in the Fusion Performing Arts Center- this obviously doesn’t apply to emergency situations, but don’t expect to get out for a late night coffee!

It’s bound to be a blast, and is an incredible experience for both novices and experts alike! So tell all your acting friends to join in the fun, and all your other friends to come out and see it! We hope to see you there!
